• Search Engine Optimization Strategies

So you don’t want to pay for PPC (pay-per-click) ads, and instead you want to be listed in the top 10 Google results for your top keywords? That’s exactly what I did for my former website www.creditprovide.com. Take a look on Google today for the following keywords: “bad credit”, “bad credit loans”, “bad credit credit cards”, and so many more. 3 straight years at # 1 for these terms, and over 100 million competitor websites. I sold it to someone in 2004 and its still # 1 today because the guy kept using my strategies.

    A. Incoming Links

What I learned from my success is not only am I a freakin genius, but that buying incoming links is a must. It’s very difficult and time consuming to create content that many high PR sites would just link to freely, so I always buy links. (PR is the page rank from 1 to 10 that Google assigns to web pages through their toolbar that you can download here). For Creditprovide.com I had high PR sites linking to me, and one of the keys was that many of them had incoming links to them from government pages and authority pages. Some of the sites I paid for links from were MakeaChildSmile.org, FoxNews.com, etc.

I believe links from government pages and authority pages make a HUGE impact in your rankings. If you can get some to directly link to you, great. If not, find a site that has government or authority links going to it, and get them to link to you. They should be PR4 or higher. Don’t bother with any less. What you can do is locate non-profit charity sites (501c websites), and negotiate with them for a link. Make a donation to their charity or whatever it takes. Charity sites are commonly linked to by government sites. You can check to see where other sites get their incoming links from by going to Google and typing in “link:www.nameofwebsite.com”.
It’s also important to get incoming links from high PR sites that are in industries related to yours. If you have a site about finance, it wouldn’t be good if you only had incoming links from porn sites. Get it? As far as anchor text, you used to be able to get away with using the same anchor text for each incoming link to your site. But now it’s important to switch it up. Anchor text is the actual text in the link to your website, such as anchor text here.

It’s easy for Google’s robots to spot a site that is buying links if all of your incoming links use the same text. If your main keyphrase is “bad breath”, you would want to have links pointing to you with varying anchor text like “bad breath odor”, “halitosis and bad breath”, etc. This is especially important if you are buying links from a site with several hundred or thousand pages. Google used to count several many high PR links from the same domain as important, but now it appears to be much less important. But if a site does link to you from multiple pages on their site, make sure the anchor text is varied.

A few good services that can help you seamlessly get a lot of quality incoming links are www.textlinkbrokers.com and www.text-link-ads.com. They find links for you, negotiate the price, make sure the anchor text is varied, and make sure the pages that link to you aren’t flooded with links to other sites. If a page linking to you has more than 10-15 outgoing links, you won’t get much benefit from the link, as the PR will be spread out over many links. It’s also important to note that if a site has more than 100 outgoing links, you may even get punished by Google for associating with link “farms”.

Directories - It’s important & easy to get your links added to quality online directories, so that your link popularity is increased and your PR increases. As of August 2005, the following directories all offer interior links of PR 4 or higher, depending on the category.

Free Directories - Some free directories require you to become a volunteer editor in order to submit sites for free.

    Choosing Your Blog Topic?

    Posted by VernMoney.Com | 4:22 AM

The toughest part of starting a new blog, is deciding what you are going to write about! It sounds cliché, but in all honesty, if you choose something you are passionate about, you are much more likely to succeed. Choosing a blog topic you have little or no interest in just won’t cut it. When you are passionate about the topic, your blog content will show it. This is what readers are looking for.

    Let’s break down your potential blog topics into three categories;

    Personal, Branding, for Profit.

    The Personal Blog
There is nothing wrong with having a personal blog, as long as you fill it with personal content. It would be very difficult to create a personal blog, then try and monetize it down the road. The majority of personal blogs are never meant to generate income, but instead simply to inform, and are usually a first attempt at creating a blog. If you are going to create a blog for profit and potentially sell it the future, be sure not to use your actual name as the domain name, as
this limits its use for anyone else.

    ÎÎ Branding Blog

What are you good at, or known for? Whether it is your business, profession or even a hobby... blogging for branding is a great idea. As a “brand” blog, you will want to continually add new posts about your expertise and keep all topics tightly on target with your niche topic. Once you
establish your creditability and audience, advertisers in this same niche will flock to advertise on your blog.

    Blogging for Profit

Some want to blog for profit, but it takes more than creating a blog with a few affiliate links. It’s not easy to make money through blogging, but with full dedication and a business mindset from the start, it can make your success that much easier. An excellent way to blog for profit is to
find a product or service you have an interest in, and build a blog around it. Continually build up content, reviews and resources to become a top blog within your niche community. It is also important to do the proper research and see if that individual product already has an affiliate
    program you can tie into.

    Contents that Sucks

    Posted by VernMoney.Com | 7:07 AM

Gee, what do you think this post is going to be about?

Your content is what is going to truly make you a Trusted Expert – it is the single most important thing you can do.

If you’ve been following all the advice I’ve already given in the previous post, you’ve already come up with something of value to provide your users with – that thing that helps cement you as a Trusted Expert in their minds, whether it be a tool, ebook, audio or video file or report, and that’s great, but you can’t stop there.

As I mentioned in the last trusted Expert post about site maintenance, it’s important to your reputation as a Trusted Expert that you continually update your site. Make sure that you add in new testimonials when you get them – you can keep the best ones from the past up, but also make sure that there are also new ones, so that people will know that you’re still doing a great job of helping your customers now, not just 3 or 4 years ago.

Also, be sure you keep up on what’s happening in your niche, and where applicable, comment on it. It will add to your Trusted Expert status if you can prove to your audience that you not only participate in the niche, but you’re also up on what’s the latest happening. Put your ideas and opinions out there enough, and soon people will start to look to you for their news and information about your topic – the very definition of a Trusted Expert. And if they go to you for information, where are they going to go when they need to buy something – that’s right – to you.

Your content is the way you communicate with your users. Everything you say, and how and when you say it contribute to the overall effect of you being seen as an expert. The cornerstone of being a Trusted Expert is to provide users with useful information – not to make a sale. The sale is the side affect of them trusting you because of your useful content. So make sure that you put at least as much effort, if not more, into the quality of your content as you do with your marketing tactics and you’ll be fine

Always respond to customer inquiries, and if you think the information is useful enough, get the original person’s permission and add it to your site. Not only are you sharing valuable information with your audience, you’re also showing them that you care enough to respond to the people who contact you, making other people more likely to contact you (and possibly buy from you) in the future.

Most importantly, don’t rest on your laurels. You may have written the best ebook or come up with the best tool in the world to brand yourself as a Trusted Expert. And you may think that’s enough. The problem is, no matter how good the original was, everything on the internet has an expiry date on it. Eventually, you’ll need to either update what you have or come up with something new entirely. By being proactive about this, you’ll just further reinforce the idea that you’re an expert in your niche.

The value of a college degree is decreasing every year, but the head master of the university won’t tell you that. And my complaints is if the value kept on dropping and jobs that requires a bachelor degree is getting scarcer and scarcer every year, why are the tuition fee going up every year?

    University’s Outrageous Cost

The average tuition fee for most universities is approximately $30,000 to $50,000 for four years for instate students. If you choose to go to private or elite universities, it can easily cost you $30,000 to $50,000 per year. Did I mention this is the cost before buying books and food?

These universities need to base their tuition fee on the earning potential of the students once he/she graduate. If the earning potential of an average student with a bachelor degree is weakening, should these universities’ lower their fees?

I mean, universities’ graduates with a bachelor degree today are being laid off in more parts of the United States than ever before. And with new students graduating every year, can you really compete?

    3 Reasons to Quit College

Unless, you’re getting a 3.5 to 4.0 at elite universities such as Harvard or Yale, it’s a good idea to quit college and start a business. It’s not hard to figure out why college is a waste of your time even if all your tuition fees are paid for:

#1) Are You Learning About Something That You’re Passionate About?

Most college students are not passionate about what they’re learning about. If you’re going to college, you know this. In most case, you’ll have to take general class that you don’t necessary need for your major. It seems to me that college has become nothing but a business that overcharges you for little value of education.

If you’re passion is to become a doctor, I’m not saying that you’re going the wrong path. The mistake that many people make is to go to college, study a certain subject and then graduate just to work in a Wal-Mart. Nearly all the managers of Wal-Mart doesn’t have a college degree, so what’s the point of going to college in the first place.

#2) Will You Make More Money With Less Stress After Graduation?

College for me is just training you to be someone else’s employee; this is true even for business school. And the big question is what will happen after graduation?

Even if you land a job, you’re probably working hard to make more money for someone without a college degree. That’s if you can find a job.

But the real depression will hit you once you find out that you have to pay off those loans that you took out to pay for your tuition fees, books, and food during the four years. And all you got for those hardships is a degree and knowledge that you won’t be able to use for a long time. Did you know that most college graduates work in a field unrelated to their degree?

#3) Will You Get Your Time Back?

If you’ve been to college, you know that it’s not easy. Professors will give you a boat load of homework that needs to be done within a short amount of time, plus a test. Students are always thinking of ways to get away and actually drop out.

In my opinion, a motivated person who wants to succeed will succeed no matter what. There’s always a better path that the ones that our teachers and parent gave us. And only the true leaders will sought that path.

Most college students don’t have a life because they’re taking too many classes hoping to graduate soon and start their life. But trying to hard will make people tired and stressed out. But the real question is you using your time wisely and making every minute worth something? Make sure you are, for those times are gone forever.

    Mindsets Are Difficult to Change

Since a child our mind were conditioned by our teachers and parents that a college degree is necessary to succeed. When you’re thinking a certain way for too long it’s hard to change that mindset.

But understand that the majority of the men/women who can afford to live during the past few decades don’t have a college degree.

More often than not, with a college degree you can afford to survive and out food on the table, but you can’t afford to live.

Deep down inside, you know this is true, but your teachers and parents have conditioned your mind, that if you don’t have a college degree, you’ll be flipping burger at McDonald the rest of your life. But I’m happy to let you know that a lot of people working at McDonald are making more than a college graduate because they actually have income and less debt.

3 Reasons to Start a Business in 2010

    #1) We’re Living in America

The United States of America is viewed by most country across the globe as “The Beautiful Country” or The Land of Opportunity”. It wouldn’t have been viewed this way by so many countries and people in the world if it didn’t deserve it.

In fact, if you can’t get rich in America, you can’t get rich anywhere in the world.

    #2) Procrastination Leads to Failure

If you want to do something you have to do it now and not some other day. This is because some other day never comes. If you decided not to do it now, chances are you’ll never do it.

2010 is a good year to start a business because the economy is still recovering, which is creating opportunities. Did you know that more people get rich during an economic depression than any other time?

    #3) You’re Already Failing

Everybody’s afraid to fail, but you shouldn’t be afraid to fail because you’re already failing. You won’t understand this until you really think of your current situation.

If you’re going to a non-elite university majoring in something that won’t land you a job with the government, you’re failing. On second thought, if you can manage to graduate in the top 10 rank of your class, you’ll have a chance. This means studying from dawn to dust and not having a life for at least four years.

Lucky for you, there’s no dead end (not if you’re living in America). Whenever I think I’m at a dead end, there’s always that light that shows me a path to leave that dead end behind.

    Final Words

I understand that this is a daring topic and will get me some negative comments, but I have to let the truth be told.

And I’m not encouraging anyone to start a business without doing any research (that’s stupid), but I do encourage people going to college to consider a different path. There’s nothing you can do with a degree in biology or history besides teaching at a school. 2 to 3 months of summer vacation, I would go for it.

If you’re a student majoring in literature, make sure you start writing your own books to sale. Being an author and selling your own creation is a good business you can start. But if you just want to go online and ramble like me, you don’t need a college degree. On second thought, you don’t need a degree in literature to become a bestselling author.

No matter what you do, make sure your passion comes first. You can make money anywhere, so why waste your precious time working towards a job that you have no passion for.
